Privacy Policy

Westpark (“the Service”) is operated by Westpark LLC. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. We believe in plain English: no legal tricks, no surprises.

1. What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• –First name (required)
• –Email address (required)

When you submit a parking report, we collect:

• –Lot ID and condition (open, filling, or full)
• –Optional comment text (up to 100 characters)
• –Timestamp, day, and hour of the report
• –Current weather conditions (from Open-Meteo, not from your device)
• –Active community events (from Trumba public calendar)
• –School calendar status (public data)

When you use the destination search, we collect:

• –The destination text you typed
• –The recommendation we generated

We also collect your points balance, report count, referral activity, and credibility score as part of the gamification system.

2. How We Use It

We use your data to:

• –Generate parking predictions for the community
• –Identify your account and track your points
• –Send you transactional emails (login links, verification)
• –Improve the prediction model through aggregated, anonymized analysis
• –Train machine learning models on report data

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell your data.

3. How We Store It

Your data is stored in a Turso database (libsql), a hosted SQLite-compatible database service. The database is encrypted at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to application-level credentials only.

On your device, we store a session identifier and your basic profile in localStorage. This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly submit a report or search.

4. Who We Share It With

We share data only with the following service providers, strictly for operational purposes:

• –Resend — for sending login and verification emails. Receives your email address only.
• –Anthropic — for processing destination search queries. Receives the search text and lot data. Does not receive your email or identity.
• –Google Maps — for geocoding destination searches. Receives the search text appended with “Westport CT.” Does not receive your email or identity.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or social media tracking scripts.

5. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. Parking reports and associated metadata are retained indefinitely for model training purposes, but may be anonymized (stripped of user identity) after 12 months. You may request deletion of your data at any time.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• –Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• –Request correction of inaccurate data
• –Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• –Withdraw consent for email communications at any time

7. Cookies & Local Storage

Westpark does not use cookies. We use browser localStorage to store your session identifier and basic profile data. This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to any third party. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any cookie-based analytics.

8. Children's Privacy

Westpark is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We will note the effective date at the top of this page.
